I first went to see Sean because my friend was raving about this great new trainer who was helping her get fitter and slimmer. I thought I was already in reasonably good shape, I’d run a 10k, completed a couple of triathlons, I cycled a bit and I looked ok. Turns out I’d barely started! I had so much more to achieve.
I used to go to the gym and workout a few times per week, although I struggled a bit for inspiration. I also had recurring backache and a variety of niggles around my body, nothing major but annoying things I couldn’t shake. Obviously I wasn’t quite getting everything right!
To start with, Sean focused on building core strength & stability, getting my body moving correctly with good form and working on strength to reduce the risk of these niggling injuries recurring. We combined the strength work with cardio endurance so I could build up to running longer distances without my body breaking down and without me collapsing in too much of an exhausted heap.
When I first started, I recall that Sean didn’t launch into a complete nutritional overhaul straightaway. Instead he focused on getting the new exercise protocol working well first, before gently bringing up the subject of nutrition, once I was comfortable with our sessions. This approach worked really well for me. A sort of ‘bite-sized chunks style’ so I wasn’t overwhelmed from the outset and could actually take his advice on board and make lasting changes.
Obviously Sean couldn’t work magic without input from me but he did inspire me to commit to training, follow his guidance, eat better and really put in the work. It’s a gradual and on-going process but when your trainer is there supporting you, it’s easier to stick with it to get the results. The other great thing is his enthusiasm and excitement when you reach goals, be they big or small. Having your trainer cheering you on and celebrating with you makes a big difference and spurs you on.
Since working with Sean, I’ve totally transformed my body and achieved a variety of crazy goals that I wouldn’t have even considered before. I’ve run a marathon, cycled up Tour de France mountains, gone from size 12 to size 8 (& stayed there), got myself a six pack, made seriously strong recoveries from 2 hip surgeries and a shoulder surgery and many other things besides. However, probably the maddest and best result of all his hard work with me is that I was hugely inspired to give up my corporate career and join the fitness world…Roll forward a few years and I’m now a fully qualified and successful personal trainer too!!

Sean is a personal trainer by trade, and a fantastic one at that. But first and foremost, he is a spectacular motivator; the kind of guy who has you thanking him for the reps you wouldn’t have been able to achieve by yourself. Sean turns the gym into a laboratory for life – the process of mental and physical discipline he instills is highly transferable to the many challenges one encounters outside the world of personal fitness. It is this mindset resilience, combined with the resulting undeniable transformations, that makes him the preferred personal trainer of some of the world’s most successful and famous people, as well as normal folks like me.
Initially, I sought Sean’s help in an effort to halt what I perceived to be an irreversible, genetic + age-driven trend towards higher weight and greater body fat. Sean not only helped me achieve this goal, but took the initiative to reverse this dangerous trend entirely. His systematic process of adaptive change within the gym, combined with mindset coaching for lifestyle, food, alcohol & exercise goals outside of it yielded drastic and sustainable results – I’m 10kg lighter than when we started, and I’ve replaced a block of fat with lean muscle. For the first time since my early 20s, I feel active and energetic when I wake up each morning, my waistline is comfortable, I’ve regained muscle definition, and many of the guests at my wedding have asked me how I managed to turn the ship around so noticeably.
This isn’t a quick-fix solution or diet/trend du jour … Sean Murphy endows his clients with a permanent, life-changing process which yields bigger dividends than almost any investment I can imagine. I’m going to live longer and feel better for many years as a result of my time training with Sean.

I started working with Sean 10 years ago. Having hit my early thirties I found that my metabolism (though at that stage unaware of what that meant) wasn’t what it had been in my care free twenties. Sean understood exactly what I needed to do to get in my best shape ever and was able to accommodate and account for my hectic lifestyle. He coached and educating me about the importance of correct movement patterns and a balanced approach to strength, conditioning and cardiovascular training.
Through his systematic approach Sean helped me not only transform my body shape but also my attitude and understanding of health and well-being and he has taught me more than anyone else about the importance of diet and nutritional balance. To this day, 10 years later, he still brings me fresh insight on training, nutrition and general well being advice every time we talk. A total professional.

I’ve been through several personal trainers over the years, but Sean has been the only one who has had a lasting impact on my life and fitness. It is easy to see that coaching is more than a job for him, and that he truly cares about the well-being of his clients and wants to see them experience the happiness and positivity that health & fitness has brought to his own life. He tailors his approach to each session with the right amount of encouragement/forcefulness to extract the most out of you for your mindset that day, and checks in between sessions to help keep you on track. He never preaches or pushes lifestyle changes or nutrition ideology, but is always ready with plans and advice on those topics when you come to him wanting to take your training to the next level. Armed with a deep understanding of the theoretical science behind the changes correct exercise & nutrition can foster in your life, as well as the practical experience of having transformed himself and others, Sean is an invaluable guide on the path to a healthier, fitter, and happier life.
I started working with Sean during a particularly stressful and depressive time in my life, and it is not much of a stretch to say that Sean has literally been a life-saver.

I am a married, father-of-3 in my mid forties, working in a competitive, results-driven business in London.
I was fast becoming the overweight guy, blocking the view in family photos when, earlier this year, I committed to making small but important changes in lifestyle – namely regular sessions in the gym with Sean. I backed this up with a series of small but permanent dietary tweaks, introduced over the course of a few months.
The results have been pretty incredible, taking me from over a 100kg in January to 85kg in early December and returning me to a physique, which went MIA over 15 years ago. Saying that all this has had a very positive impact on my confidence, energy levels and family life would not be an overstatement.
Sean has a great attitude, grounded in realism and always encouraging. He is also a strong motivator and combines the right mix of flexibility (varying the regime and always available for the most ungodly early morning starts when needed), discipline and a holistic approach to health, covering strength, fitness & diet.
More importantly, he has helped me develop a healthier, more balanced attitude towards setting health goals and maintaining improvements over the long term both inside and outside the gym.

Over the last year I have been training with Sean, I have not only seen lasting improvements to my physique, in line with the objectives we had set together, but the biggest change has been in the strength of my willpower and overall confidence.
Indeed, Sean has a unique holistic approach, where he not only trains the body wholesomely, but also the mental fortitude with real support. While I have immensely benefited from his workouts, I have also enjoyed having such a support by side to help keep my diet, sleep habits, and motivation in-line with my goals.
