With almost 20 years experience as an Exercise Specialist, Rehabilitation Therapist, Strength & Conditioning Coach and feverish learner, I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to spend every ‘working’ day immersed in my passion.
Since gaining my degree in Sports Science and Injury Rehabilitation back in 2001 and jumping into this incredible industry, I have been on a journey of further education and personal improvement. Over this time my love of Exercise, Health, Fitness, and Coaching has continued to evolve and extend to embrace a more holistic appreciation of overall Human Wellness, Nutrition and Functional Movement. I have devoted many hours to educating myself across all areas of the industry and I have been invited to contributed to well known publications such as GQ Magazine, Easy Living Magazine and the Evening Standard.
During the last 2 decades I have had the pleasure of working with 100’s of clients of all ages, abilities and physical dimensions, helping to coach and guide them towards their general health, fitness, performance and body composition goals. I have also been blessed with opportunities to travel extensively through Europe, The United States and parts of Asia to ‘ply my trade’ and continue my personal and professional development.
read moreIt has never been easier to access ‘information’ than it is in today’s rapidly changing world and there is probably no field where this is more prevalent than the Health/Fitness/Nutrition Industry. The explosion of Social media and the ever- increasing influence of technology in our lives have created a shift in peoples understanding, perception and expectations of Health, Fitness and Wellness. Today, my objective is to use all of my experience, ongoing research and personal experimentation to Coach, educate and advise people ethically and to try to help them navigate through the noise and plot an achievable course towards better performance and a healthier, more productive way of life.
Working ‘hands on’ with people has been the bedrock of my business over the last 18+ years and is still the side of the job that I find most rewarding.
My Online Health & Fitness Coaching platform (SHM Fit App) allows me to work personally with clients, unrestricted by location, accessibility or affordability.
Primarily aimed at more competitive or professional individuals or teams looking to optimize the last 20% of specificity for enhanced performance and outcomes in their particular disciplines, skills or sports.
I am an avid learner and experimenter across the broader fields of Lifestyle optimization and Nutrition and adopt an open, intelligent and non-dogmatic approach when it comes to advising clients on what’s best for them in order to achieve their goals.

The world of Health, Fitness and Nutrition has always struggled with conflicts of opinion and contrasting schools thought. Today, we are exposed to a constant stream of ‘information’ and ‘miss-information’, science and pseudoscience, fads and fashions, across every conceivable platform, from an ever-increasing population of ‘experts’ and ‘influencers’.
Having worked across the Health and Fitness industry for almost 20 years, I have witnessed this evolution first hand and at close quarters and this exposure has compelled me to evolve my own belief systems and practices to try to formulate a clearer pathway to success for both myself and the people I work with.
I created my CORE 4 Pillars of health in an effort to try to refine and curate this abundant ‘information’ into a more simplistic, digestible and evidence based, reference system. A collection of tips, simple habits and more detailed practices which people can use on a daily basis to help upgrade, sustain and optimize their personal Health & Fitness, Performance & Well-Being.

I thought I was already in reasonably good shape, I'd run a 10k, completed a couple of triathlons, I cycled a bit and I looked ok. Turns out I'd barely started! I had so much more to achieve. I used to go to the gym and workout a few times per week, although I struggled a bit for inspiration. I also had recurring backache and a variety of niggles around my body, nothing major but annoying…
